Cea de-a 95-a ediție a Oscarurilor, găzduită de Jimmy Kimmel, a avut loc la Dolby Theatre din Hollywood în noaptea dintre duminică şi luni. Everything Everywhere All at Once, ce strânsese cele mai multe nominalizări pe 24 ianuarie – anume 11 – este marele câștigător al serii. Filmul, ce merită văzut pe ecran cât mai mare, mai rulează într-o serie de cinematografe din țara noastră, dar este disponibil și online, pe Voyo.
Everything Everywhere All at Once a luat trofee în categoriile Cel mai bun film, Cea mai bună actriță în rol principal – ceea ce face istorie, Michelle Yeoh fiind prima asiatică laureată cu premiul categoriei, Cea mai bună regie – Daniel Kwan și Daniel Scheinert l-au învins pe Steven Spielberg, care luase Globul de Aur pentru regia filmului autobiografic The Fablemans, dar și pe deținătorul premiului BAFTA de anul acesta, regizorul filmului de război Nimic nou pe frontul de vest, Edward Berger, apoi Cea mai bună actriță secundară – Jamie Lee Curtis, Cel mai bun actor secundar – Ke Huy Quan, Montaj și Scenariu original.
Votanții Academiei au preferat interpretarea lui Brendan Fraser (The Whale) în locul celei a lui Austin Butler, care l-a încarnat pe Elvis Presley în pelicula cu același nume. Fraser, pe scena Oscarurilor, a dat senzația că este grav bolnav – prin tonul vocii și tonus. Cate Blanchett, principala contracandidată a lui Michelle Yeoh, datorită rolului complicat din Tár, premiat anul acesta cu un Glob de Aur, a plecat acasă fără niciun trofeu.
